Yep,
If the dealer giving such a hard time just because of the armrest, so I can only imagine what will happens if warranty repair needed in heavy modded smart.

I've never known a wiring harness to get damaged like this.
It may be that to the service personnel there is obvious cause and effect with the armrest.

I'm just hoping that a restored harness means a working car and no other problems that settle out from the time the shorts occurred.

Cube is right. I have had mine in twice for warranty work and the dealers are really anal about the warranty work. When I asked about it was told Penske is losing so much money that warranty repairs have been targeted as a way to save money. Where they were flexible before they now arr refusing to do work unless the customer can prove the part failed.

had a battery and an HVAC fan motor go bad in a year and a half, never had a problem with the dealer making any warranty repairs.
