Unlisted feature or glitch? (Re: A/C recirc)

I've been keeping the A/C on as it's been getting hotter. The past few days it's been particularly blistery hot (+90F). I've noticed recently about 10 seconds after starting up, the recirculate kicks in even though the light isn't on. I push the button the light illuminates and nothing happens. I press it again, the light shuts off and it goes down back to fresh air mode.
Has anybody else noticed this? I don't remember it happening before it got hot..

been toasty here too!

We hit 95 yesterday and 94 today. I think when the cabin is really hot it automatically goes into recirc mode to cool down ASAP. . . yeah, what jetfuel said . . . works great. Or you can lock it into recirc with the button and make it like a chill box . . .

I even had a few times driving through the 112 degree north piece of California where the recirc would kick in automatically long, LONG after the system was running. It just felt it needed the extra help to keep the temp from getting out of hand.

So it's a handy unlisted feature. That's all I needed to know.
Meh, it's easier to post a thread about then trying to search it out half the time. You either get a redirect or you get told.

Good to know. Thanks. I personally like reposts. It keeps the place hopping and we all can learn a new trick.
