to be quick - I'm a 450 owner so I don't care about "official" smart dealer warranty - however, a So Cal Smarty has asked if taking your 451 smart to an independent garage for repair or service will void your smart warranty. I thought the best folks to ask was all you 451 owners. Thanks

If their smart is still within the original factory warranty, take it to your dealer. If it is not a warranty issue, wear and tear items, impact damage, in other words; things that are covered by you or your insurance, you're free to go anywhere. If they are looking for an independent garage recomendation, I'll leave that up for comment from those in SoCal. Good Luck!!
