The wait is over.
The car drives much better than the one I test drove. It shifts smoother and the brakes aren't as touchy. They're effective, but I don't go flying forward when I tap them like the other one did. Shifting smoothly takes a bit of practice. When you get it right using the paddles, your passengers won't even be aware of the unusual transmission.
The biggest thing I've noticed now that I've been driving it is that you quickly forget just how small the car is after you've been in it for a while. The interior is roomy and you don't sit low at all compared to other vehicles.
The other thing that I've realized is that despite the car being out for almost a year, everyone wants to look at it. I got my first thumbs up in about 30 minutes of owning the thing. During the test drive, a school had just let out and all the kids just stared at the car as it passed. As soon as I parked it in the driveway a neighbor that I had never even spoken to came over and wanted to look at it. When I came to work this morning everyone wanted to check it out. The entire staff of 13 was outside looking at my car. People who work in the offices next door walk by it and check it out.
I've wanted this car since I was in high school. It's about time they released it here and it's about time that mine came in.
I'm getting it tinted next week. I don't like the feeling that everyone is staring at me inside the car all the time. I need a little bit of privacy. I'm also thinking about getting an in-dash nav system.
