I went to the dealer in Chandler today after waiting 15 months and 2 days, and hoped that I would have good news about my car coming in, but still not there. I also got the chance to see the new Rally Red that I ordered up close. I did not like it. I am sure that some people would like it, but I did not like it. When I had gone to the factory in October I had not seen the red up close, and thus had no idea that my eyes would not find it appealing. I was also not happy about the prospect of paying an additional $400 after today. So, rather than follow through, I instead decided to cancel my order and get my $99 back. So, in a couple weeks, someone will have the opportunity to buy my fully loaded red and silver cabrio at Chandler.
Here is the red I saw and did not care for.....don't know why...just didn't do it for me.
Oh, I came home with a car alright.....same options, different colors, and after nearly 200 miles getting it home and driving around, I find it to be much better than I had expected already.
No, the wait was too long too. Especially when there are so many orphans at MSRP waiting for homes. The lot at Chandler was full of available cars...and mine was nowhere in sight. Was glad to have the option of getting an identical with same options though.
I tried to buy this one first.....but they were not willing to part with it...
They then offered me one of two other cars, one of them being identical to the car I ordered but only different colors, which I found more appealing. I was tired of waiting, didn't want to pay $400 more, and there it was, so I took it.
The gray and black look much better than I expected. If DDE runs true to form, my red and black passion coupe should arrive in late January. I haven't seen the rally red in person yet but from your pictures I think I'll like it. Congrats.
I DO like that color!!
I thought I wouldn't like it but I do, I do.
I didn't think I'd like it I must say, but the Smart is really nice painted that way.
I even like on a Cabrio, Passion, or Pure - for it looks really nice, that's for sure.
If you don't care for silver, that awesome grey is definitely the cure.
I like your subject line - I was about to tell you why run 25 miles of a marathon and then just give up. Look like you didn't do that - you jumped in a Smart and rode out the last mile.
