Warning chime question...

Wife has noticed at different times when she has turned off the iginition key there is a soft warning chime going off. This even happens after the key has been removed from the iginition. It continues for a minute or so then stops. Can anyone shed any light on this condition?

Thanks jwight for the information...will try turning the key off before releasing the seatbelts and/or opening any doors. If it happens again, will then try reinserting the key and turning it to the II position then back off. Was concerned that we might have had a problem. Again, THANKS!

FWIW, I've found since getting our car most of that has gone away. I can get in and start the car immediately - no need to let it "boot up." Also, I can turn it off and yank the key out immediately with no "beeps." Maybe it's a time or mileage thing.

And you're welcome; glad the info was useful.
