Warning RE: Europeanplates.com

After seeing a reference on this forum to europeanplates.com I ordered a custom european plate for my smart.
Orderd on Dec 16th and paid immediately with PayPal. Have not recieved the merchandise at this point. They maintain they produced and shipped and provided a USPS tracking Number.

USPS tracking indicates the PO got electronic notification of the package being ready but that it was never picked up or delivered to the PO.

Tracking a lost item cannot be done by the orderer but must be initiated by the shipper.

Now europlates is not responding to my calls or e-mails and no action appears to be taking place.

I am out aprox $50 and they are ignoring me. If you desire europlates be very cautious about using europlates.com. They do not know what customer service is and have essentially hosed me.

This is not good; I've used them in the past with no issues but something's gone wrong here. All that aside, USPS tracking is a joke IMO; the shipment never shows locations and I've had things delivered and shown as still in transit, and vice versa. UPS or FedEX, please. If they won't respond, contact their local (Seattle?) BBB or get SMART to go over there with a baseball bat*.

*just kidding, of course!

This is an easy fix

Just get in touch with pay pal and dispute the charge. They will temporarily credit you back the $50 and will debit the company. Once the company sees what pay pal has done, that will light a fire under their ass to do something! Worst case....you never get your tag from this company but you get your money back to do business elsewhere!

I did contact PayPal but it was on day 47 and they will only take action within 45 days.

After the posting yesterday I recieved an e-mail this morning. They are very upset about the post but are remaking and resending a plate. I will be satisfied if in fact I recieve it this time.

Things happens sometimes between in the shipping process. But ignoring a customer is not good. This would irk me the most.

Are these sellers on the forum? I guess the posting got their attention. Good luck and please post outcome when/if this gets resolved.

"they are very upset about the post": I can imagine so! Not upset about screwing you, but about getting caught and getting outed.

Like Marion Jones: remorse over getting caught and sad over losing everything, guilt or shame over kiting bad checks and stealing hundreds of thousands of $'s, completely missing. This is what passes for ethics these days.

Did you pay with a Credit card through paypal?
If you did that, you can do a chargeback directly with the Credit card company. I had to do this once. NEVER pay with money sitting in paypal balance, you will have to jump through hoops to get something back. Always with a credit card.

Just an update to let everyone know that my missing order with europeanplates.com has not been resolved and communication from them has stopped.

I Googled problems with europeanplates.com and found I am only one of many who have had similar experiences with them.

I am writing it off as a loss and will learn from the experience. I would suggest you avoid them and if interested in Euro Plates use a different vendor.

Ken, sorry to hear that; I'd hoped for a better response from them. I'll look elsewhere when the time comes.
