Well, now it has happened to me! Broken windshield!
We really need a smilie banging his head against the wall! Driving home from work today on a two-lane crossing a bridge, as an approaching white truck passed I caught a white-ish flash zoom toward me and heard a SMACK! After a quick scan, I found the spot on the passenger's-side windshield about the size of a quarter! BLOODY HELL, just my freakin' luck.
I live in SC and have full coverage, so there is 0 deductible on glass replacement... I just don't know yet, nor did the dealer, as to whether insurance will cover the rain sensor too.
Guess I will find out tomorrow.
Very sorry to hear about your windshield bull8042, you'll have to let us know how the insurance handles the rain sensor. I like the Smilie and brick wall though, feel like that often.
Mine is cracked too. Rocks flying from uncovered dump trucks seem to be everywhere here. I don't even care to have it replaced until it caves in or has so many other cracks that I can no longer see out to drive. No sense in replacing it and the having it broken again the next day...
If it starts bothering anybody else, well then, they are welcome to have it replaced.

Thanks. I have a bunch of really good ones. Maybe SMART would like to add some of them.

If that is a regular thing, then I don't blame you. I hate the dump trucks with the signs "Not responsible for broken windshields". I would be tempted to display my own sign that reads, "Not responsible for returned rocks". And let them read it as I was "returning" their rock.
Malicious I know.... I just happened to be pissed right now.

Not replacing a cracked windshield is dangerous. Not just on smarts, but on all cars.
The windshield is an integral part of the structure of the vehicle; the structural integrity of your car is compromised when you have a cracked windshield.
For safety's sake, please get it replaced asap.
The insurance company said I could have mine repaired tomorrow by Safelight with a 100% guarantee. If it isn't right or if it continues to crack, then they will pay to replace it completely. I don't have a definitive answer on the rain sensor as to whether it is covered as part of the windshield or not. However, I was led to believe that it would be covered as well. Hopefully I won't have to find out firsthand.
Hey, Bull not having a great time!!! I have many small chips and in mine too!! Well hope you have luck with the repairs! Did you get the window tint place I posted for you on your post?? p1nball
Bull, I've used Safelite several times for w/s repairs on my own cars, and use them all the time for my insurance customers. They do a fabulous job, and they warranty the work. You won't even be able to tell where it was when they're done.
Rain sensor would be covered. Damage to the car is damage to the car, regardless.
It's no different than covering the little stripey defroster things or the w/s with built in antennas.
Springlering, my experience is not the same. Safelite fixed mine this morning. Took it out at lunch and a couple of the crack are still quite visible. Most of the others are totally invisible though. The dealer told me to wait 2 or 3 months and see what happens. Right now, there are no windshields available from Germany and he doesn't know when they will be. So I guess I will just live with it for now.
