I was surprised how inexpensive my quote was: $190. I expected a big whopper of a fee.

But... I have to get the tires replaced. That's $600 or so. Ah well. I'll have new tires just in time for the snow season.

WOW, you paid for a 60K on your smart? Wouldn't it have been cheaper, with the 1.9% Interest they're offering now, to just buy a NEW ONE?

At the rate I'm going now, I could easily listen to over 200 audiobooks a year (I use the doube-speed feature on my iPhone). I'm currently listening to "Freakonomics," and have listened to the entire "No. 1 Ladies Detective Agency" series as well as most of the Isabel Dalhousie series (also by Alexander McCall Smith). I can't wait to get back to the car whenever it's time to commute, so I don't complain about the drive at all. The only thing I mind is that my return trip is on the late side, so I always see my kids in the morning but often miss the little two in the evening.

As for the car: No current complaints. I'm still on the original brake pads (I rarely and gently use the brakes); everything else is working fine. Funny about the idea of getting a 2nd Smart: I discussed that with my dealer this afternoon. Maybe in a year or so....

Where's your dealer? The price of the 60K for me is listed for $499.95. I will need to get the 40K in about 2 months.

60K in 18 months, wheww! Are you going to be the first to wear out an engine and give the rest of us an idea of how long they can last?

Hey their is a guy on the other coast selling some engines, perhaps you should have a spare.

I'm not sure about that profile info, but I joined on May 9, 2008. I hope I never wear out an engine.
