Completely unimpressed with WCC. Struggling with dismantling a smart? Really? These people are supposed to be the best in the custom car business?

Alan, You are pursuing this the wrong way.. let me explain.

they SAY they are the best at customizing cars... now with that in mind you would think they would do some research about HOW to dismantle a 451... can you imagine if someone brings them a really expensive car? would you leave YOUR car to these hacks to jump on?
They did not even find out if there is a way to retrofit a 450s rag-top to the new larger totally different from the ground up 451. there is a big rule to follow that they broke almost from the begining.... if you dismantle.. you put back together.. There are a ton of nuances that you learn or confirm as you remove a panel, and only you can put it back properly using that knowledge. Watching these chimps remove the panels, you know they broke clips, scratched parts, probably even bent some enough to permanently mark the bend area. they cut into the floor with no foresight to check what lay beneath! Gas lines? gas tank? can you imagine when trying to put it back all together? "where does dis screw go? If you watch them as they put on the left door panel on, the guy has a fit and rips the rubber seal that rides the windows outside. Yeah he does not know how to put the door on and slide it backward to engage the clips... they should have called Kane @ evilution to show them up!
The insulting part is that they made the seat go back with this mod and the tall guy said it was too far back.. I think He had wanted to LOWER the seat not move it backward.
You would think that if these guys are the best in the biz.. THEY would do the work! not hire guys off the street just because they speak a little English! what good is that in being able to paint or upholster a car! heck half the guys in their Ca shop are Mexican! the only one that remotely speaks "Ingles" is Chivo.

I loved this one, because:
  • Ryan: "We'll be done in (like?) an hour". Yeah, right.
  • Ryan, on not going home when the work day is over: Sure, pay me (yes, overtime costs more Ryan).
  • "The reaction" (when they come in the morning): I can carelessly rip off parts, too - unless there's a boss that I have to answer to when I break something.
  • I won't go on, need to limit the post.
Klichkov can probably box, but when it comes to talking he didn't do so hot.. & btw., I used to think some other car shows on Discovery were pompous in the past, but compared to these guys they were awesomely professional.

These guys are a big joke (except the able people they hire).
