What can I get from the dealer when I take delivery?
I am picking up my smart passion (red/black) on saturday03/2/2008, How do I find out what I can get as add ons etc. at the dealer. I am interested in a possible service plan extension, floor mats and gee golly anything that makes my smart smarter! Anything I can finance at purchase time is a plus for me. Thanks in advance.
Yeah don't worry, they will offer plenty of goodies including warranty upgrades and be happy to take your financing as high as you can afford. How do you find out? Call them. See what your dealer has in stock. Oh and congrats on your new ride. Drive Smart!

you might ASK YOUR DEALER!
each dealer will be somewhat different in what they offer, such as aftermarket accessories, warranties, etc. so ask YOUR dealer....i'm sure they would LOVE to sell you more 'stuff'. after all, that's how they stay in business....selling!
You might want to explore the accessories in advance and email your dealer with what you want well before you pick up. From my experience, accessories are in pretty short supply.. and at least that way, there's a small chance they'll keep you in mind as stock gets low. Still, you can pay for them when you pay for your car and they'll give you copy of their 'due (to you) bill'.
The additional warranty stuff happens when you're in the finance dept of the dealer, paying for the car.. and don't worry, they'll definitely mention the warranty options.

Remember that anytime you buy "extras" with financing you're going to pay more money in interest (kind of like paying for something twice). That's how the banks get richer and we get poorer.
Taken!... NO>>> I AM JUST KIDDING> .. I had an extremely smooth experience when I picked up my car. The dealer didn't push anything on me, but showed me the accessory brochure and explained the options. It was entirely up to me to decide. Russ

Do all of your investigation and decision making in advance of the day you take delivery so you don't wind up buying things you don't need in the thrill of the moment. Some dealers are very artful at using this special moment to pile on the goodies.
I picked mine up early enough the dealer HAD no accessories. Since then I added:
*rubber floor mats (nasty winter here) - $49
*the cargo area cover $149
*smart logo keyring (rubber style) $12
*'no hole' front license plate bracket $59?
I think all of the above are worth adding.
Think twice about financing the service agreement. It does not have to be purchased for a year after delivery, so you are borrowing money now for something that you can buy later.. instead of buy now, pay later, you would be 'paying' (interest) now, then having later! You may also want to delay and shop around, other companies do sell service policies, one of which may be more suited to your needs.
In the after market 'toy' area, I added a Scangauge II and a Garmin Nuvi GPS.
I will add smart carpets or aftermarket mats soon and remove the rubber until next winter.
