What are dealerships telling people the current wait is to get one? I've had mine for a few months, but I'm curious. I'm sure there will come a time where production increases or the demand decreases (not likely!) and the wait time will start to lessen. The wait was 15 months as of March of this year (I got an orphan after a couple months that exactly matched my ordered car). So how long are they saying now???
YES it is worth the wait for people who have done their research and have accepted a smart for it's flaws and enjoy it's benefits. The 2009 & 2010 should be improved smarts and I'm interested to see what they have improved upon. I could mention a few things.

I hope you can make our gathering tomorrow! I really want to see your little smartie (along with all of the 28 or so cars we're expecting!)
Last week I was quoted delivery times of 6-9 months for orders placed today. Not sure how realistic that is, just forwarding it along. What are others saying currently?
Was that you headed Eastbound on the Turnpike tonight (5:00 ish) in the passing lane near Framingham? Just curious, I was in the opposite side and thought that color combo was real sharp.

I don't know if that's too accurate. The DDE (love it or hate it) only shows 18 months out. I just ordered my second smart about 3 weeks ago and it still doesn't show me anything on the DDE which leads me to believe (and hope!) that my delivery will be closer to 24 months.
