My Orphan Passion from smart center Portland was $17,559. Equiped with Tach/Clock pods and the comfort package. The dealer added Enviroguard paint protection, Lo-Jack and a Clear Bra, $113 in License fees, $55 Title fees, and $75 Processing. The price was firm, they had a book full of folks wanting a car.
The dealers have no incentive to lose any of their slim margin. The dealers have yet to get their full, expected monthly production so their earnings are down from where they should be. With so many people wanting the cars and a chance to add a few other items if a car becomes an orphan, why give up any cash from their own pockets to make you happier with your purchase?
Hi, I will be picking up my smart this summer and I was wondering if people are paying full sticker price or can people negotiate?
Supply and demand. There is more demand than supply. You will at the very least pay full sticker price at this time. If you're getting an orphan then you might even pay additional for dealer add on's. At the most you will be lucky if you get a free ink stick or key chain out of the deal. Don't forget to check and see if they put gas in your car or not. ;)
