$15,565 out the door**doc. tax, license incl. ...that's what I contracted for online.
No freebies, unless you count the rubber key fob. But Dave Schembri handed me the key and I had my picture taken with him.
I payed $16,900 out the door for a Pure with air, radio cd, power steering, and alarm. My Smart was an orphan and belive me the dealership was more or less telling me "don't worry if you don't want it we will sell it before we close tonight". The way these cars are sellling I'm sure they would have. For what I payed I could have got a Passion but I would have had to wait longer than a year maybe more so I bought my little Pure and am so happy I did! Lifes short and I'm going to enjoy it! And my little Pure brings me joy evertime I drive it!
Mine was just like yours, except mine didn't have power steering, but I only paid $14,900.00 out the door. Wonder why the big difference, mine was a orphane out of Knoxville. Mine is yellow/black, so, no extra for paint. Could that be the difference?
Full sticker, but, since I got an orphan, I got lojack and some kinda thousand dollar protectant, I guess like armor-all, and I cant think of the name of it right now. Lojack was a grand, too. They threw in the velour floor mats. But, remember, life IS short, and I gotta say, I'm enjoying drivin around in this unbelieveable cutie cabriolet. San Jose says list for orphans is 300 folks long, that sounds like it may be the case in a lot of places, so don't think you can get yerself an orphan without waiting, either. I wonder, are the head muckety-mucks sorry there is so damn much demand and so little product? Is this really a sound business decision? Don't matter too much to me, since I walked in one day and got my orphan the next (Had to check with the little lady, first.)
100% MSRP sticker but no add-ons or junk like that. Bobby Rahal M-B Smart was great to deal with...no smoke and mirrors....treated me like I was picking up a M-B SLR!!! My Pure has the factory alarn system and nothing else. I am driving one of the least exspensive cars in the country! And love it!
I paid $15,810 out the door, but we do have high taxes out here. I have a red passion with quite a few options, so it's not bad.
Dave van, I wish I went to your dealer!! I was treated VERY bad all week I tried to call and when I got there to pick up the darn thing, the did not care less! Sad part is, I did not choose the turd hole place I had to deal with!
Well. My bumblebee passion ran me $18004.00 out the door. I got pretty much everything except the alarm. Comfort pkg, lojack, 2 sets of mats, cd holder and rear nets, and guage pods. The only thing I am not happy with is the lojack. It is not suppoeted in my area. I am just a little over 3k miles now and most of those are in the 50 to 80 mph range and my milage is right around 42-45mpg. As an aircraft mechanic, I have learned quite a bit about this car and I still like it!
I just picked up my little Blue/Silver Passion Monday, April 28th, and paid exactly what I expected- sticker price, which included the comfort package. Now it takes me twice as long to run errands because of all the folks stopping me to ask about it!! It's FUN getting all this attention!
Full list price is what you should expect to pay if you're on the $99 waiting list. Orphans will be the same price**for the car**with the catch that piles of useless add-ons come with the privilege.
I had a serious issue with the exorbitant dealer doc fees and actually left the dealership without buying the car. A couple of days later I got a call from the GM and after talking through the situation we came to an understanding that was agreeable to both of us. No discount on the car, but I did get at-cost discounts on accessories and collection items to offset the dealer doc fees. There's not a ton of mark-up in those items, either (I have the dealer costs on all accessories and collection items). That's probably the best deal I could have made, and is at least comparable to dealers that sell in doc fee-restricted states.
