What a difference a stereo makes!

I drove all over yesterday with out any stereo in my smart. That really sucked. Kept reaching over to turn it on and realizing it wasn't there. I had gotten the wrong DIN adapter. Drove all the way to SmartMadness to get the right one. Everything was ready, front speakers upgraded to 2 ways, rear speakers in the hatch and an amplified sub under the passenger seat. I put the new head unit in last night. What a difference driving to work today. While it isn't the best, loudest and definitely not the most expensive, it sounds so much better than the stock system with the 2 anemic speakers. What a pleasure. I have less than $300 in the whole stereo. Center arm rest really helps on longer drives.

I had a similar experience. Had to drive to the house to pick up a forgotten cable during my installation. I had the OEM tweeters and sub-woofer ONLY. Odd sound indeed with no mid-range, LOL. Fortunately it was only a two way trip across town to get the remedy.

I have a 2011 with the entryline radio. Horrible. That is my one complaint about the car. I think for 17 grand they can throw in a decent stereo with 4 speakers. A new sound system is the first mod I will do to it.

Wednesday night my wife and I went to dinner and it was her first time with the new stereo. I let her pick the music. Dean Martin's crooning never sounded so good. The big band music really brings out the best in your stereo. She enjoyed the music very much.
