What happens when you refuse an ORPHAN?

Does anyone know what happens with your place in line when you refuse an ORPHAN?

Do you get put back at the end of the line?

Do you get taken off and must asked to be placed back on?

Does you your place stay the same in line until you accept an orphan or until your reserved Smart arrives?

Assuming you did not cancel your reservation and ask for a refund, you still have your place in line.

orphans

I haven't been given a specific guideline from smart, but I can tell you that we are not moving people on the list. The way our list works here in Seattle is outlined at: smart center Seattle - O'Brien Auto Group .

what line are you talking about? If its an orphan line, I would think you're off it! (unless your dealer knows you and knows you're looking for a particular color/model - he might call you again)

Refusing an orphan should have no effect on your $99 reservation line - your dealer would have no control over that! (Btw, I just passed on a chance for an orphan the other day!)

Right on, Card. I already refused an Orphan because it was too much $$$$ and he said he'd call when one was available more in my $$$ range. He sold the Orphan in a matter of hours. I pretty much said I only want a "Pure" with minimal options.

The only thing refusing my little orphan would have cost me is sleepless nights regretting not buying it. Wasn't my favorite color, but darn this thing is fun.

When my first orphan offer came I couldn't get to the dealer that day, and so I lost the chance. Thankfully my salesperson kept me at the top of his list. My second offer was about a week later, and I wasn't about to let that one go even though the colors and options were slightly different from my first choice. I jumped on it. I haven't had a second thought since buying it. Maybe some day I will swap out the color but right now who cares. If you get an orphan offer I suggest you take it.

I turned down an orphan just this past week. I was told that I would go to the bottom of their orphan list. The car I ordered is still coming at some future date so I will wait. They have had few orphans in MN.
