My 1986 Hyundai engine was made by Mitsubishi. I got 135,000 miles on that little bugger, and paid $7200 for it brand new, LITERALLY off the truck!!

If I assume that 7,500 is Mitsu's original intent (not withstanding smartUSA's 10k "Oil Service Plus" deal), and if I further reduce that interval by the 1/3 commonly recommended for my severe service, I get what? - 5,000 miles.

7500 miles on dino/fossil oil,is the max OCI. But syn oil anywhere from 8000-12000 mile OCI. Also conditions and type of driving are the major deciding factors for both oils. Back to the thread on Mitsu engine. A good source of info can be found on mini trucks blogs because the Mitus mini truck has the 660cc in it...

3G83 variants (660cc triples), including possibly the 3G83T, a 15-valve turbo. Even though it is a different engine, original Mitsu service info on it could be useful to us.

Does the Mitsubishi engine have dual ignition with six spark plugs, like our Mercedes engine in the turbocharged 450 model?

Nope, 3 plugs, with COP(coil on plug). No plug wires.

In the case of the 999cc 3B21 specifically, the answer is NO.
