Does the puck turn on the headlights when it turns on the wipers? Florida requires headlights on in the rain or low visibility. I am see so many cars with no headlights and colors that blend in with the rain. You do not see the law stopping them. They would have to get out in the rain.
Ditto in California...You have to have headlights turned on when your wipers are going in the rain. That would be a nice feature if they were tied together.
Here are couple of views, along with the puck on a Mercedes SLK, which is nicely integrated. It may not be bothersome from the inside seating positions, but it could have incorporated closer to the top of the windshield.
I don't know if it's coordinated with the light sensor or not. In fact I have no idea how it works. I had a headlight sensor on my camry, but no puck.
I just assume the lights come on when it rains (like the camry).
I think the puck must "see" the rain drops and it needs to be so big so it can calcualte x number of raindrops per area = how fast the wipers run.
Whatever the technology, it works with perfection. Portland has seen some sort of rain constantly since I got it (ok, only 2 days ago), and I'm very pleased and suprised by its accuracy.
