Can you put wider tires on the stock rims? Whats the max. I admit this has probably been covered.

You should be able to put wider tires on the stock rims but make sure if you do so that the overall rolling diameter stays the same.

Front tires (155/60r15)- 22.3"
Rear tires (175-55r15)- 22.6"

If you change these measurements, you could change the speedometer accuracy to your car.

I'd wait until the 'Rack' has a 'plus-one' option for these tires. That way you can upgrade to a wider tire without affecting anything.

but that happens to every car that you change the rim size to.

I have replaced my rear tires with Bridgestone Potenza 185/55 R15 tires and keep my one remaining Continental in the closet for a spare. I dread having to replace a front tire out on the highway some weekend or night when everything is closed. Maybe I'll buy one of the front tires to add to my closet, just in case.
