wheels, 9 spoke or 12?

I've noticed that some of the 451 fortwos have 12 spoke wheels while the specs state that they are equipped with a Design 5, 9 spoke wheel. Some of the road show smarts had the 12 spoke. Is the 12 spoke an option?

I had this same question and the official response I received was that the 9 spoke was the only wheel available. I don't know if the dealers will have the ability to offer the 12 spoke wheel. I certainly hope so.

9 spoke only for right now. I, myself, like the 6 spoke rim (like on my avatar) but I don't know when/if I will be able to pick up a set.

The 9 spoke is all that will be available in Canada and the US, but you can like I did buy 12 spoke or 6 spoke rims from Europe. They do mount up perfectly BUT you will need to spend some money to have the tire pressure monitors installed.

I have some info on the 6 spokes and the import process I went through here:

I'll be selling my 12 spoke rims with winter tires shortly, as I've very happy with my 6 spoke rims. I'll post once they're up for sale if your interested.

I might be interested but don't think you'll still have them when I take delivery nearer the end of 2008.

But, then again...I'd be happy with some roadie steelies.
(Hmmmm, maybe I could find some "baby moons" to go on 'em...)

Right, you swapped your stockers for the EU pulse wheels...
Maybe the Eu system is different??
