Always on?

You always have them on?
No, they don't look cool in daylight or when you are blinding me with them unnecessarily. TURN THEM OFF WHEN YOU DON'T NEED THEM. Please be courteous to other drivers.

No silly, only at night and they don't blind anyone....they light the lower road surface and perifery ie: the grass and edges of the road. The one thing you really need to see when it's foggy, get it? Here take this.

When people flash me for using the drivers lights. I just turn them off a second and back on. There is no difference to the other persons vision for driving lights than without. They do serve a purpose to fill in the area in from of the vehicle where a regular headlight does not reach.

As far as FORD TRUCKS. They all play havoc on little short Miatas whether they have driving lights or just standard headlights. I purchased an auto-dimming mirror within a month after buying my Miata because of this.

As far as my opinion on rear fog lights. There are too many idiots in Dallas that don't know how to use them and leave them in the fog position all of the time and it looks as if the rear brake lights are always on.

Last I was in the Buckeye state, I saw a lot there as well...

But yes, there needs to be more crackdowns by the police to get idiots off of the roadways.

Just kidding; I'm a transplanted Native Texan trapped in Ohio; our drivers are some of the worst, especially with cell phones and no turn signals. Pays to be alert.

It's lucky there are 3 brake lights then ;)

Actually that is why I prefer the separate rear fog as we have on the Mini, stands out much better in the fog then vs looking similar to brake lights.

In the end fogs, front and rear, are safety equipment - to help me see in fog, peripherally as needed, and to be seen by others under certain conditions, so they are definitely a plus in my book. Others like them too so it doesn't hurt resale either

I didn't get the fog lights the last place that had laws about using them told me that visibility had to be under 50m to use front or rear. That is about the distance between telephone poles. For on road use they are primarily intended for others to see you and obviously the rear lamp is all about that. When someone gets close you are required to switch it off.
most people I see running them constantly must be in some chemically induced fog they seem to be everywhere. Thanks for all the input.
