True fog lights, properly installed, should not be blinding. It is the "style" lights that are.
even the factory stuff out here in the woods shuts down your night vision too long too many years of smoking and just plain years and my eyes just take longer to adjust and I know I am not alone there. What most around here are using them for are driving lights and fogs make poor ones. Just having folks dip the high beams is a thanks so much. man am I grumpy today,

... Actually that is why I prefer the separate rear fog as we have on the Mini, stands out much better in the fog then vs looking similar to brake lights. ...
A quick inquiry "over there" indicates that the Euros' smarts, both UK and Continental, have the high intensity rear fog lamp on the "offside" corner (the corner away from the curb). It isn't a separate lamp; they do it by giving up one backup light in the taillight cluster. It involves at least a different cluster. It may be that the required wiring is already within the wiring harness for factory front fog equipped cars. Wellsmart, Ltd. currently has two LHD clusters in stock.
Bosch has made a separate, surface-mounted lamp for years, but it isn't as slick as having it intergrated into the cluster.

Aha, I thought that the pics I'd seen of the Euro 451 had only one rear lamp with the reverse light! It looked kinda funny and caught my eye but it didn't occur to me that it was to have the rear fog in the other one. Funky!
Not sure I'd want that, have to see how it look in action better. I do want the Euro brake lamps with the clear/amber turn signals though.. Much as I fight it I have modding in the blood
Most people never check the adjustment on their headlights. Fog lights just give them another set to ignore, then leave on all the time. How many times have you been blinded by at least one out-of-adjustment light on a car running fog lights on a clear night?

Generally speaking the only fogs that bother me are mounted high on trucks and such. Low mounted fogs on cars rarely are directed in such a way for me to find them blinding at all (with the exception of people who have modded them to be HIDS and intentionally bright like driving lights). Misaligned headlights and high vehicles whose lights are high or have not been readjusted after jacking the suspension up are way more of an issue then fogs to me (and I am super light sensitive).
I'm with smartbob,
the fogs are more for style, here in nyc, there really is no need for fog lights, but i have them on most of the time, and NO it doesn't blind other people, It only lights up the bottom portion of the road. Now what blinds people are the rear fogs, it's like a constant brake light blaring at your eyes..and idiots who keep them on for no apparent reason really tick me off...with that said...
i wouldn't mind having rear fogs to turn on especially when someone drives with his/her highbeams for no reason at all...that'll teach them..hehe
