Heck, I saw one in the wild just today. Oddly enough it was someone I DIDN'T already know which is rare!! What's worse is the driver of the silver with black tridion cabrio didn't even wave!! Unless the driver was wearing blinders, it is impossible to miss Kermit.

Spoted a 451 in the wild

Throughout my road trip from Roseburg, OR to LA to Madison GA and return via I-5, I-40, I-20 etc, I encountered 1 (one) Smart car.

Where I saw it is astounding, the manner in which I was to come across it is a separate story.

On the return trip I stayed at a motel in the historic part of Tucumcari, NM (Highway 66 aficionados will recognize this history-rich town (Pop 2000)).

In the morning as I was driving on E. Rte66. to I-40 West, I stopped at the hardware store for a small purchase. A customer pulled into the lot just after me, came up to me and said, " We got one of those right here in town".

I asked where, and this guy pointed almost directly across the street to a Blu/Blk 451 coupe in the carport behind a Deli. "Cornerstone Deli".

I knocked on the Deli's back door and was met by Mike & Rachel Hicklin. Two really gracious and hospitable people.

BTW: If you have had real frozen custard (Dairy, not water base), Be sure and stop at 711 E Rte 66 "Cornerstone Deli" for great frozen custard, two great people and one great car.

Well, are you going to post it in the thread you started on the topic? The thread seems abandoned by everyone except me. I guess it has become so common to everyone else as to be not worthy of mention. Hard to believe from my perspective.

I was just about to but got side tracked. It really is a first to see a car I was previously familiar with.

I see Smarties all the time these days. In fact, there are so many that I sometimes worry I'll lose out on some good parking spots because they'll be taken by other Smart Cars. My mom's block in Manhattan is home to two and sometimes 3 smarts (not including mine), and there are often Smarts driving the highway as I head into The City. We always honk, wave, and smile. When I'm not in my car, I wave my keys, and most Smart drivers get the idea and smile back (those keys are pretty obvious).

I drive 50 miles round trip from Hollywood to Santa Monica everyday and rarely, rarely, do I see a Smart! Why would I want to see them everywhere? I love being unique don't you?

Might be suffering from that "Red/Green" color blindness. Looks brown to them.
