Who ordered in March 07 and still is Smart-less?

Just curious because I haven't gotten my car nor 30 day notice. All I know is it's planned for production or being shipped, same B.S.

I reserved 3/19/07. Had a confirmation in hand. for some reason I was uncomfortable with the situation (05/07) and checked with smartusa. Was told some reservations on 3/19 were lost in bit heaven/hell. After numerous attempts to get clarification on new confirm with 3/19 date, I called Penske. A nice lady there took my fax of both original and latest confirm. Within a few days Dave S. sent my config. and apologized for the mixup. I picked up on 1/31.

Reserved on March 30 2007, Still no car(I believe it has left the port for the dealer) Never a word from smart USA, only the dealer.

Once your car reaches a certain point in the production schedule all all your info will come from the dealer not smart USA.

We reserved 3/30, confirmed 11/14, received our 45-60 notice 2/27, DDE states delivery 3/24-6/22. Our car still hasn't shipped and our res # is 1184. I find it very frustrating that 1200's are coming in but our car is still in France. Smart would be smart to improve their res system.

On a positive note, we were able to adopt an orphan and are very happy with it! Since our res number was low we were offered orphans before others with higher res numbers. It took several weeks for an orphan we wanted to become available but once one did we picked it up the same day we got the call on it. If you really want a car get on the orphan list and make all your wildest dreams come true;)

Agree with your point on communication, my point is that the only communication I have had at all from smart USA was the invitation to confirm and configure. No 90 day no nothing.

Esrazor, dbwill, both #1184 hang in there. Your turn is up soon. I'm #1181 in the Houston area. My car is in the dealer being prep for tomorrow delivery. There is another #1181 in the Houston area got her car in las Saturday and pick it up Monday. Things are moving along a lot quicker now. I think all of us were assigned to the closest
dealer in our area. There is no control of any scientific manner of how many reservation came in on a certian day from a certain area. For instrance, there might be 100 reservation on the first day 3/19/07 and then there might be just a one on 3/20/2007. On the same day, 3/19/2007 there might be only 20 in Kansas. It is just the luck of the draw. If the Smart is very popular in a large metro area which has more than 1 dealer verse only a dealer that covers several states. The wait could be quite different. You are getting close, you can almost smell it.

I was just about to start a similar post, so glad you began this!

I am an 1180, I've never received anything from Smart unless I pried it from them. My dealer is in the midst of opening here in Charleston, and claims to have as yet no information regarding my car. I'm to the point of (seriously) drinking heavily, I'm so frustrated. I can't believe it's been over a year and one week since I reserved and I have no idea where or when I might get "the call" to come get my car...

I believe in the virtue of patience as well, but I've got to think this sucks for those of us reading other posts from people well down the line who are enjoying their cars. I'm sure I'll be much more positive with keys in hand...

I am an 1181 with no car. DDE says the standard "in production or shipping" with delivery March to June. On the other hand, my wife (1184) has her VIN and it is due in Baltimore at the end of the week. My dealer says "it will be soon" but has no production information, which is when they get the VIN or at least part of it. I just hate reading the posts of 1190 and up with a car or VIN number - the delivery to the Chicago area seems to be extremely slow. I reserved a car about a month before some folks getting or have their smarts.
