Why I love my smart compared to the car I used to drive.

I was driving today and I started comparing my smartie with the other car I used to drive before I got it and I was amazed at so many things...

Old car: 2005 PT Cruiser Turbo - all loaded.

Why do I love my smart more? here we go!:

* GAS MILEAGE! * Its better to do 41mpg than 17mpg with the PT.

* STYLE * This car makes me smile to no end!!!

* CONVERTIBLE * with my busy life, I can get tanned and get to work!

* TURN ON A DIME * I could NEVER park the PT right for the life of me!

* I CAN CLEAN SNOW OFF THE ROOF * Yes, I am short and I can do it now!

* GREAT THINGS COME IN SMALL PACKAGES * 'Nuff said!

I don't have my Smart yet (comes in April)... But I know I will love.....

*The gas mileage! My truck gets 10city/16hwy. 2007 Dodge Ram Hemi 4x4

*Easy parking! The truck is a monster.

*The smiles and attention while driving the Smart!

*No room for people asking for rides!!!! lol

* Can fit in my garage!

Im sure there will be more when I get it!

OK, looks like I'm first in, hitting "new posts" and all.......

Old car? None. Cars sharing commute time with the smart: '97 Porsche Carrera 4S, '03 Ford F-350 4WD Crew Cab, '93 Porsche 911 RS America, '95 Porsche 993RS Clone.

Postives of the smart:

Convertible! Check. First one I've ever owned in all these years. (914's and 911 Targas don't count.)

Mileage! Um. Yeah, with diesel around $4.20 I'm so looking forward to hooking up the trailer and heading to the track Thursday, even if it is only 150 miles. Nearly double the mileage of any of the 911's too. And quadruple my GMC W4500 delivery truck.

Oddball factor! Still the only one I've seen on the road out where I am, kinda away from the city.

So all in all about the same.

Although I've only had my smart for 2 weeks today, I have to admit with all the different vehicles I've had the last few years, my smart is without a doubt the most fun car I've ever owned for most of the same reasons you mentioned. However, I also love my bullet bike and it's going to be tough deciding which to ride the most this summer. It's nice to have both, because they both get awesome gas mileage.

I have been driving minivans (5 in all) for the past 19 years. And still have 2 currently, 99 Chev Venture & 03 Dodge Caravan.

Why did I get the smart car, first at the time I ordered the car online, I was working for DaimlerChrysler, now I am just working for Chrysler. When the smart center of bloomfield opened, I took a smart car for a demo ride. I liked it! Then the next day I showed up at the dealer again with luggage. If my luggage didn't fit I wasn't buying. IT FIT! So I took delivery on Jan 30th.

Now the fun begins... I want to get the car ready for the Woodward Dream Cruise in August. What do I want to do? Make it into a Mr Incredible smart car. I run marathons dressed in a custom made Mr Incredible costume and I want a red car with custom graphics to match!

I was even thinking of doing a quick weekend trip in May to do the Minnie Marathon in Disney World. Leave Thursday evening and return mid day Monday.
