This is BS. I reserved mine in June 07, and me DDE is 8/14 to 11/12. That's an 18 month wait if they don't move the DDE further back again. You only have to wait 10 months. It just isn't fair why some areas have to wait so much longer than others. Once again, I'm so glad I got my orpahan.

I asked Smart USA Support about my DDE and I got this answer.

Dear smart Enthusiast, Our Delivery Date Estimator is currently not showing an estimated time of delivery for the smart fortwo reservation you placed on 7/18/2008. The $99 Reservation Program began in March 2007; since you have a fairly new reservation date please try our DDE again in 2-3 weeks. Please take into consideration that our Delivery Date Estimator is updated daily to take into account any reservation cancellations, and changes in production or distribution. We suggest that you check the Delivery Date Estimator periodically, every two to three weeks, to see if you get an estimated delivery window. If you have any other questions or concerns, please contact us via email or by phone at 1.800.smartusa. Thank you for your interest in smart USA. You will be hearing from us soon! If you take that as Bible truth, then I should have a DDE, along with many other people on here. I wonder if they pick a random caned answer, or if a machine does it for them.

Ok, as a newbie maybe I am misunderstanding something here. I reserved my car on September 7, 2008. When I went to the Smart USA site on September 8, 2008 and entered my email address I was already seeing a DDE of September 2009 to November 2009. Is this how everyone is obtaining their DDE? If so mine was listed a day after my reservation and shows a 1 year wait for me.

Strange you have number 1509.. Here's my info:

I'm 1509, reserved on 2/18/08.

Configured today 9/10/08

My DDE says January - March 2009.

Looks like I'm a little more than half way through the waiting period with 4 to 5 months to go.

When I configured I was using the 2009 model configuration with the option of a solid roof (which I don't want).
