Plus they all have higher on the power train component. Ranging from 60k to 100k
Is this because the high demand of the car they feel they can get away with a low warranty? It just doesn't make sense.
Introducing the worst warranty in America the new smart!!!
yes, and i'd also like a turbo motor in mine. and a free trip to hawaii with my purchase. there are absolute limits to what you can do for $15k. i think what they have been able to do is more than fair. if you want the extra warranty, you can buy it which keeps the costs down for those who don't mind the "risk".

Please do a search for other threads on warranties; this horse was beaten to death several months ago.

PS - why does an Aveo have a 5 yr/50K mile warranty and cost about the same as a smart? Because GM saw the warranty as an incentive to car buyers. A longer/better warranty does not automatically equate to higher vehicle costs.

and they still can't give that car away. ugliest car available in the US right now. give me a thousand year warranty and the car for free and i still wouldn't drive it. A longer/better warranty absolutely equates to higher retail cost.

Why did I expect this answer Then why didn't all of GM's MSRPs go up when they went from the 3/36 to the 5/50 warranties?
they need all the help they can get. it's an extra incentive. check the numbers. the car IS NOT selling. at all.
GM extended warranties on all their cars but did not raise prices on any of them as a result. Same with Chrysler when they went to the lifetime drive train warranties. More warranty, no price increase. Don't know what more I can say.
[QUOTE=smartisme;23118]Why in Usa we only get a 2/24,000 mile warranty and in Canada they have
a 4yr/80,000 warranty and 4year unlimited on roadside assistance.
