Nice pic... i plan to have a blue silver cabrio (wife wants it... i want Rally red/ black.... we'll see :P) parked just like that at the TAMUG (Texas A&M-Galveston.. Marine Biology.. woo hoo!!.. or doh!???) parking lot (motorcycle parking) in the spring. we'll see if i get a 20$ ticket... i will most likely, but at least i will be the only smart on campus to my knowledge... and i WILL make a scene... maybe i can get the ticket wavered... IDK the moto. parking is conjoining w/the staff parking. :P so i am probably SOL on getting it wavered either way, but it's worth it...

I, too, was disappointed not to see a vertically parked Smart, but I'll accept the perpendicular parking. I would have thought the complaint was that you might have been in the 'motorcycle only' area, but maybe you were just outside that.

Ha, that is awesome about the NYC garages! We need them to wise up here too, it only makes sense since we take up half the space.

Funny the whole perpendicular parking thing came up for me yesterday - when I parked on the street there was a typical commercial truck parked nearby that was clearly at least as wide as the Smart was long and the guys wanted me to park perpendicular behind it They just got a kick out of the car and had all sorts of questions, was nice.

From the looks of the picture inpost 1, they could park a lot more cars if they all parked nose in or at an angle.
