Will be getting a different one than I ordered, just need some opinions

Hi All,

I just heard from Smart Dealer that they have a yellow with less equipment available than I ordered.

I had ordered a smart with Comfort package (leather etc)

this one doens't have that

also I had ordered Upgraded stereo which isn't coming in this one as well.

I had ordered silver, but I really like the yellow color when I visited the dealership yesterday

Also yellow may stand out better so safty reasons

I just wanna know from other owners

If it's really worth it to get the upgraded stereo or not...

Also is leather worth the wait... mine wont be here for another 2 months or so, and I was able to get this cancel one if I want to get it.

Please reply soon, since I have to tell them soon

You will want to replace the stereo and speakers anyway so don't sweat that. The leather seats, in New Hampshire? I'd opt for heated cloth seats and reupholster later if desired. So it comes down to color, tridion, and any options you ordered when you configured that you can't live without. Good Luck!!!

Dunerunner is right about the leather. I did not op for the upgrade in speakers and regret it. Awful tinny sound.

Sound - I had a radio 9 in my orphan I picked up and have since upgraded, got aftermarket speakers installed yesterday and put in a Radio 10 a few months back then will install an underseat sub later this week. It's fine for me, some people want more and some don't care about the radio much at all - it all depends on the person. You can easily have a stereo installed that suits your needs.

The leather - neither of my cars have leather but my parent's car does. I've been driving theirs for the last two days and I actually used the seat heater this morning. It's a plus for leather but I don't see much of a use with cloth as the car should get up to operating temp pretty quick to heat up the interior.

Just to clarify.... the 9 and 10 are basically the same radio except you can run the subwoofer off the 10 and there's a 6 change cd player right??? There isn't any extra power on the 10? Also, can you run the sub off the 9?

The 10 is a WAAYYY better radio than the 9. Lots of differences to include a better screen, ability to play ripped CD's and I know there is more but can't think of it at the moment. Sub off the 9 - good question.

I think you'll be better off waiting if for no other reason than you'll want the heated seats really soon in NH. But...if you take this orphan, you'll still have fun with it.

Wait for the one you ordered, IMO. The difference between a loaded passion and one with no options is not quite $3,000... the options make it so much more enjoyable if you like amenities.

The leather is of excellent quality, fits tightly, and the contrasting grey french stitching looks nice. The seat heaters get up to temp quickly (and on high get very toasty).

As far as the audio package goes - I'd definitely say go for it. It is one of the better non branded (ie - not Mark Levinson, HK, Bose...etc) upgraded factory audio packages I have sampled. With a good quality CD, the bass comes through quite well, and the highs are nice. There is not as much differentiation between the midgrange and the highs as I would like - but it is definitely worth the price of admission in my book. As far as FM radio goes - it seems to sound more compressed than it does in other cars, however.

The radio 10 has a higher resolution, multi line display and 6 disc CD/MP3 changer with CD Text cabability. Tied in with the audio package, it's definitely a good value if you are not all about going with aftermarket.

Hey- I have heated CLOTH seats and they are WONDERFUL! They actually get warm/hot much faster than my leather seats did in my previous car. I wouldn't go back to leather. Also the black leather is bound to get extremely HOT during the summer months- not worth it to me.

I love the leather - the quality is very good and they're so much easier to keep clean than cloth. I live in southern Arizona, and with a CaPopTop the interior, including the seats, stays nice and cool. I'd wait if I were you. - sheureka
