Will regular turtle wax work on wheels?

I see lots of threads about waxing wheels to help with cleaning off future brake dust. I am planning full wash/detail tomorrow. I have some turtle wax left over from waxing my Chev, can I use this? What do y'all wax your wheels with that is sold over the counter somewhere? This weekend may be the last warm one 'til spring.
Thanks
Brian

I've never waxed wheels myself, but I can see how it might help with cleaning. After going about a month without cleaning my smart, the front wheels look like they're charcoal gray with all the brake dust on them. But whenever I've washed it, I just spray them down with some wheel cleaner first while I'm washing the rest of the car and when I get to the wheels/tires, it really doesn't take much effort to get them looking new.

As for the wax, I don't see any reason why you couldn't use it.......

A couple of Michelin products you may want to try: Review: Michelin brake dust repellent and 3 n1 tire shine w/pics - Autopia.org

As Jim said, not on the rotors (as in the first set of photos on that link.)

I waxed mine, not brake dust clean up is a microfiber towel and the end of the soap bucket after washing the car. Easy as can be to clean off, no scrubbing. I just have to wipe everywhere just like cleaning the panels.

I then rinse by dumping the left over clean water on them at the end of the wash.

Sometime I follow up with some turtle wax Ice detail spray, sprayed onto a towel first so I don't get the rotors, just to make the next clean up even easier

That Michelin stuff looks interesting. Easy to spray on and wipe off. Although, the reviewer is probably using low dust pads not OEMs. I use a product called Wheel Wax which is a traditional paste. Not as easy.
For us neatnics, brake dust is a pain. To me, the less intricate the wheel, the better. Much easier to clean six smooth spokes than a pretty wheel with all kinds of nooks and crannies.
