Worthwhile accessory: trunk cover

$149, and it can be installed or removed in seconds. It's a brilliant design, and still lets you pass things through to the front seat when necessary. When you want it all sealed up, the portion facing the cockpit will stay tight at the base with velcro. There's also a built-in net for added storage, and you can retract the cover portion as if the cover were a roller-shade.

Hello,

I am interested in the $149 trunk cover accessory. Does anyone know where to but this item?

I believe this is a smart dealer option. The original posting is from 2008

I have it and it works nice but it's also a major nuisance sometimes and there are times I feel like keeping it off. If you want to keep your cargo safe from prying eyes then not much choice . It was great at first but after awhile it may wear on you.

I've been using mine for 10 months now, and love it. I just saw that someone in Bulgaria is selling one on ebay for $48 shipped! (More than 10 available.) See item# 270660542288 on ebay. NOT an endorsement, I was just looking to see what was available at the moment. Mine came from the dealer, but as I am always looking for a good deal, I'd have taken a $48 chance on this one if I had the need. But that's just me.

I got the cargo net and cover off Evilbay and installed it myself. The result was as good as if it came from the factory. I like the looks of the cargo net and the cover does a great job. It does not have the window shade type retractor but it works just fine.

We drove out of the showroom in May 2008 with our smart baggage compartment cover and have found it to be PERFECT!

It can make packing multiple items easier without having things roll down the slope only to get lost behind the seats.

As a smart OEM item was it really worth $149? It's that MB "halo effect" thing . . .
