Wouldn't it be nice if they'd tell us something?

I bet I have logged on to this site 20 or 30 times today just to see if there have been any new posts revealing any NEW information. We all know that dealers had a group conference call or online meeting today and they were supposed to receive an important package via Fed Ex.

Wouldn't it be nice if Smart USA would actually put out a new 'release' for all insiders to read with an 'update' of just where things stood right now.

Yes, I know they have dropped the dates Jan 14th and or 15th several times and talked about cars being released from the docks and such, but obviously, today also had some importance for them to make an issue of this date and such.

I don't know how many others feel like they are waiting on pins and needles just to get any little update, but you would think somebody, somewhere would be authorized to make some sort of 'statement so we would all know what to expect and WHEN. Meanwhile, I guess we just keep waiting for these overdue babies.

I've got to agree with you. Knowing something is going on but not fully knowing what it is - well it's got me wondering how soon we'll hear the sucking sound of the smarts leaving their secluded (more or less) holding places. I know I've got a good wait ahead of me (#1268) but I'm still excited.

The dealer launch package gets delivered Thursday morning. If other smart center's staff are as excited as we are in Round Rock (TX) I suspect phone calls to customers with a car on U.S. soil or on the water will hear from their dealerships VERY soon. The requirement is 5 days but I know we won't take that long.

Waiting is tough but smart usa has a process and they're sticking to it. I'd rather that than a rush to get things in motion followed by a flood of angry e-mails and phone calls when things didn't happen as advertised. My vote is we all chill for a day and let these guys do what they need to do to get cars and info to dealerships. It's not time to panic yet.

My beef is that we were solicited to sign up for an "Insiders" Newletter and so far zilch.

This represents a total disregard for us on their part. I hope Schembri reads this.

Any periodic newsletter would be well received and cost them bupkas if sent email.

Director of Communications? Hah!

The product is great, but percieved customer service that is below par has sidetracked many a business.

I can't believe that this is Penske's style.
