X-Gauge!?

Has anyone looks at this on the Evilution site? This looks to be better than a scangage, especially since it will fit in a pod!

MPG
MPH, better than your spedo,
Clock
cool animation!

I thought that was only for the 450 and not the 451 yet. It is sweet though.

Yeah, only 2001 on 450s. From the site:
Why isn't the X-Gauge compatible with smart® models after 2006 (fortwo 451)?
Starting with model year 2007 (fortwo 451), smart® has changed to a newly mandated OBD protocol (CAN-Bus) that the X-Gauge has not implemented. In addition, the clock pod itself is different and will not accommodate the PCB of the current X-Gauge hardware.

Bummer.

Not for me, however - I like my Scangauge. First, I actually know how to read an analog clock (not busting on anyone posting here, but it seems to be a lost art with digital clocks so prevalent, and I know my daughter's friends don't seem to be able to figure them out) - I can get the time at a glance. The digital clock in the speedo is too small to see easily, without causing a distraction while driving.
Next, Scangauge gives up to 4 simulataneous gauges, large enough to read at a glance. I typically have water temp, charge voltage, MPG and Gallons per hour, though sometimes I swap that last with RPM or MPH (more accurate than the speedo).
Mine also inhabits the otherwise unused space below my radio (single-DIN replacement for the stock radio - see my gallery). It is removable (theft prevention more than re-use in my other car), plus gives me all the other stuff Scangauge has in it.

Just my opinion...

gbryers, I agree with almost everything you said. But, with all the gawkers I've had in the nearly a year I've owned the car ... only one person has ever recognized what the Scangauge was. And, that includes the 'car guys' who I've had work on the car for various upgrades. Considering this, it doesn't seem to me like it would be a prime target for theft. But, I've been wrong before. In any case, I'm more concerned about my GPS head unit ... every thief knows what that thing is and it would probably sell easily. Here's hoping the alarm does its job.

Actually, now that you mention it, I use the analog clock more than the small digital one for the same reason: easier to see the time at a glance.

It looks like they both would do the same thing, but this one fit into the pod. You can have all those things you listed display at the same time on this thing. And even though I like the clock, I think I would go for this given the opertunity. Too bad it dosnt work with the 451. Now, scan gauge needs to make one like X-gague!

Funny thing is that the UK and Australian smarts show fluid temp and interior temp too, or something like that.

Funny, ScanGaugeII has something called X-Gauge. I've got horsepower, fuel remaining in tank, and miles per gallon per tank. The only default gauge I have left on screen is RPM and reset are X-Gauge. There is a output port on the ScanGaugeII but what you hook up to it is a mystery to me.
