I had a 2005 Scion xB release series 2.0 in Solar Yellow but that car never really did anything to me. I liked it but I just never felt I was totally on board with it like the MINI or the smart. Maybe my problem was that I got the xB right after I had the MINI. I guess at the time I was so used to driving the MINI and drove it like I was the Intimidator (that was my nickname a MINI member gave me ) that when I switch into the xB that lacked the power and handling and a relatively small gas tank that I just never got used to it. Now for the smart, I've had it for almost 6 weeks now with over 2,200 miles and I am totally loving it. I got this as a commuter car so I didn't have any expectation as the MINI performance wise. There are minor complaints I have with the smart car here and there but it's nothing really major. I actually like the smart so much that I may consider getting a second 3 years down the road.

It's impossible to compare the two cars as they are so different.
Completely different styles with different objectives.

If it were me I'd lose the Boxster AND the Beemer...

I had an 05 Xb and loved it. Very small footprint on the outside and huge on the inside. I liked sitting up high too. Unfortunately no one else understood the car, just thought it was ugly. It was ugly, but so much so that I liked it. I got low 30s mpg.

I love the gas mileage! I checked it last time and got right over 35mpgs in mixed driving. Can't complain and I don't mind fillin' her up for $26 bucks.

I rode in a friend of mine's Xb and it was nice. But like stated in an above post, I just can't get over that cardboard box look. Just too ugly for me. Like that Pontiac Aztec. I can't believe that they were even able to sell that thing (although I heard they discontinued it due to low sales). But, different strokes for different folks I guess.

I was referring to the Aztec on the discontinued statement.
