I have the opposite problem since my left foot is doing "nothing" I sometimes forget I'm in manual and can't figure out why the car isn't upshifting!

I'm 99% manual, due to traffic and living on a hilly section of town, I hate to get into too high a gear and "lug" the motor, or loose all accelleration. I never go into 5th under 50/60 mph...

For the first couple of months I used the paddle shifters. Then I switched to "D". I found that it made a little difference in my mileage and that I was probably tending to over-rev in +- mode. I'm not real fond of the low speed shift (35-38) into 5th gear in Auto but drive most of the time that way. It does help the mileage since most of my driving is around town, 35 -50 mph.
When I feel 'sporty' I'll use the paddles, too~!
It's great to be able to do either~!

I drive in manual. Sometime I forget shifting from first to second, that shifting down isn't second, like a normal manual transmission.

If you rest you hand on the shifter while driving i can see you putting it into neutral. Its happen to me on other cars, I've owned. Not on this one.

they discontinued the paddle shifters in the 2009 models

at least in my pure they did
it was hard to shift while cornering

I drive in D all the time, not used to driving a manual without a clutch. I do however hit the - paddle from time to time while turning a corner. My '09 Brabus does have the paddles

The Pure never had them, stock.
Were they ever an option on the Pure, though?

In 07, when I first "configured", I could opt for a three spokes steering wheel.
(After selecting several options, I found out it was cheaper to select a passion, and that's what I got.)
Today, in some (UK) market, a pure can be selected with the BRABUS three spokes steering wheel that comes with the paddle. No more on the US "configurator"...
