Are You Ready To Have 2 Smarts ?
Despite it's minor first year glitches, this little car is the machine of "today" and a portend of the cars Americans will be driving in the "future".
How many of you are getting ready to buy another? Or do you already own two or three? We will be ordering our #2, shortly. How about you ? A2Jack

I'm considering ordering a second once I receive my first. I'm not sure we'll keep both, but I DO want Cruise Control and, if they offer it, a NICE RED color. When the second arrives,we'll consider selling the first, hopefully, for not much less than for what we paid. I suspect by that time, gas should be selling for around $7 bucks..so I'm pretty sure there's gonna be a huge demand..for anything that gets reasonable mileage, regardless of age.

Got my orphan in March. My wifes T-bird went in the shop for a whole week so I let her drive my smart. She tried to keep my smart after the T-bird got fixed. I told her to get her own orphan. Three weeks later she drove home her own cabrio. My ordered smart came in last week, so we could have had 3 by now. I'm happy being 2 smart.

Would be interesting to see a poll... of those who now own a smart, how many would order another? (Yes, definitely, Maybe, if..., No Way, Jose).
I've been ready to order another since the first day I got mine... but trying to time it with new feature introductions... special edition, micro-hybrid, electric, etc. "Honey, where's my Brabus?"

We ordered our 1470 in early January because we had a funny feeling we were going to love our 1215.
We got our 1215 in February and love it. We're definitely going to be a two smart household.
I am afraid the PT Cruiser will have to go *sniff* although we love her too...

Three Smarts, purchased in March and early April, including two cabrios and one Passion. Two were reservations from 04/07, and one was purchased from a forum member here.
No problems with any of them, other than regretfully putting them away in the evening. Two driven by childish adults, and one driven by child of same.
Mileage is averaging 39, 41, and 50 (by the kid, if you can believe it!)
Logic (errrr....rationalization) was: I really wanted a CLK cabrio, but for the same price, got three new Smarts and we all get to have fun.
Parked next to an open, lucious, glistening silver CLK at Trader Joe's this weekend, stood and looked enviously at it for a moment, and then realized I was really much happier with what I did get.
(Noticed through the plate glass window, as I was checking out, Mr CLK was eyeballing my Smart, and appeared to be suffering pangs of envy himself.)
If we had the chance to do it again, it would be a wholehearted, unreserved YES.
My husband has, however, wisely ordered a spare of each of a front and rear tire/rim to keep in the garage, in case they are needed. He figures with three, our odds are upped that we'll need to use one.

I love that! That means that the parents are driving too fast, probably, and the kid is driving more carefully. (Maybe he or she just takes the highway more, of course, when heading out to wild parties.) Or perhaps he just has a harder time affording gas.
