Way to go IBNERDY. I for one, am glad you posted. I did not see it as a brag. And, I had already figured you were ticketed for it, which is how you got the video. I also thought you probably should have stopped before running a red light. I can't imagine that you ran the red just so that you could post the video here, but since ran it, thanks again for posting it. Babybenz, we all love you, but building a NOS/Turbo means only one thing - you intend on going as fast as you can whenever and wherever. I seem to remember seeing some other turbo posters (not BabyBenz) with clearly was reckless driving in which the smart was speeding and doing 180s. So, cut the guy some slack, enjoy the video and remember drive safely and obey all traffic signs (or pay the price in blood or fines)
Agrees with everyone else about the safety aspect and criminal aspect of blowing that light. And how it's nothing to be proud of.
My comical side:
Look at it fly across that intersection! I wonder what the other cars were thinking? Geez, somebody left the warp drive on!
Looks like your flux capacitor is working, too bad you didn't get to 88mph...

Ditto!
We've all seen some videos here on SCOA with people doing worse acts but we didn't criticize them.

I'm 43, so I would say I'm in the same age bracket as the OP. And I've made mistakes that I've posted about as a way to help others avoid doing the same. The difference is that when I did so, I made it clear that I had made a terrible mistake and that I wasn't proud of the error or of the fact that I was lucky enough to emerge unscathed.
This post was totally unnecessary: there is nothing to be gained from seeing you zoooooom thru a red light completely unaware of your surroundings. The title makes it clear that you felt no compunction about what could have caused a horrendous accident, other than the piddling sum you had to shell out at the end of the day (and maybe, if you're lucky, a further lesson in the form of increased insurance rates). Admitting "I was stupid" in a later post also serves little purpose. We could tell that just from your posting of the video in the first place.
Had you written about what caused your total lack of attention to what you were doing, that might have been informative and useful to others. Were you texting? Or chatting with a friend on the phone? Or changing the radio station? Or tired?
I'm baffled how you or a few others could find funny the idea of running a red light when others could have been injured or killed. And it's not that I know anyone who was the victim of such poor driving, and it's not that I don't have a great sense of humor. I just have some perspective. That's supposed to come with age.
When I saw the video and read the thread, I initially assumed you were a teenager. How anyone my age could drive so mindlessly and then find it humorous leaves me gobsmacked.

Maybe if he had said in the first post that the act was completely wrong and that he didn't really mean to do it and that people should learn from his mistake?
And had named the thread something other than "Zoooooom!"?
Those are the only faults I see, but as long as he admits to his wrong doing and acknowledges that it was a stupid decision and the way he posted it on this forum made it seem like a joke, then maybe we could give him a break.
Like another poster said, there has been worse videos posted and the owner didn't say anything about how safe/stupid the decision was.
I got the Humor of seeing the perception that the car was was doing 65.
Lesson for all, Just because you just got the green light does not mean you still shouldn't look to make sure other are not pushing the red. Just because the laws of man are in your favor does not mean the laws of nature will be as well.
In the local town here with short lights people push them all the time because they think I was only car 4 in line it can't be red yet. Look before you leap and drive like everyone is out to get you.

I'll add that I just revisited the video and saw how the light had just turned red. It's hard to tell from this video whether the OP could see left and right in order to determine whether there were other cars starting thru the intersection; probably, since the light had just changed, there weren't any cars to worry about. I do think that this is an intersection that's generally NOT a good idea to run red thru: it's a pretty big one, with cars coming in all directions.
Having looked over the video, I don't think the OP was texting or chatting. I think it was simply a case of Lowe's-induced frustration with having to stop once again.
Still, instead of calling the thread 'zoooooom' it should have been called 'oooooops.'
Well i certainly appreciate everyone with their thoughts on this, good and bad. I have learned many new lessons from this.
While still realizing in the back of my mind... that i did a scary, scary, bad thing, I posted the video in a humorous FRAME OF MIND at the time. I guess its kind of like when you think its a good idea to hide around the corner and try to jump out and scare someone... sounds funny at the time, but could cause harm to that person or yourself, then you get a lecture about how you shouldn't scare grandma like that.
I honestly do apologize for not being in a more "Oops!" Frame of mind. lol
ibnerdy, thanks for the video. Glad you made it through with no collision.
You paid society for your horrible crime and now you can return to the ranks of the law abiding and do something to make a difference by setting a good example for all the youngsters to follow. etc, etc, etc.
