Beware Of Vibez Performance

ANYONE from Central Illinois who reads these posts BEWARE!!!!

Do NOT NOT NOT go to VIBEZ performance audio in CHampaign for any work on
your smart, (or probably any other vehicle for that matter). They spliced my FMXM modulator into my AMFM antenna instead of using adaptors so when I went in for a Warrantee repair on my AM antenna, it was VOID because they had cut the ANTENNA WIRE. THEY SHOULD HAVE USED ADAPTORS and any good installers should know that.
I called them. The Smart mechanic talked to them. THe warrantee expert at the dealership talked to them and they claim NO WRONGDOING. BEWARE. I am going to go in sometime this week to see what kind of restitution I can get. I paid them $271.55 to butcher my system, and then had to pay SmartCenterIndianapolis 553.00 to do the repair. A TOTAL OF 824.55 for what have should been a clean install and a FREE warrantee repair. BEWARE BEWARE

Sorry to hear that. They should stand behind their work and own up to any errors, but we know how that goes. Too bad others have to learn from your experience with these guys.

It is too bad. I want AS MANY PEOPLE as possible to know what happened. If I go in there this week and they make restitution, then I will gladly post that they made good on this web site as well. So far, my response from VIBEZ has not been acceptable AT ALL. Chris at VIBEZ hung up on the Mercedes Warantee guy.

Sorry to hear about your experience at that shop.

I have a related question though. What did you want smart to do with your antenna under warranty? I have lousy AM reception compared to any other car I've had, and had smart check it, but they said nothing's wrong. Did you have a similar problem, and if so, what was the fix?

There are a number of cars that have a bad AM amplifier. It is located in the wire harness at the front of the car. They had to remove a few body panels and my left (driver) headlight to get to it. Mine did test bad. It attached at that end of the AMFM cable which the audio store had cut at the radio end. I have it right here in my hand and the part number is 81623800. They can order the part for you. It is around 70.00 but YOURS can be replaced under warrantee provided nobody cut your antenna wire.
