I was the first smart car delivered in WI

On Saturday Afternoon I was the first delivery to a customer in wisconsin. As i drove off I wasn't sure what to expect. Yes like others here, we "drove" the car for about what, 1.5 miles in a straightline and back. Driving the real car under real conditions, was as I expecting to be quite different. I'll have a full road review in a couple days.

But the first day, I put on 125 miles, driving from the dealership off of Good hope road and hwy94, to Menomonee Falls, Down 94 to Hwy 100 Oklahoma, picking up a friend then up and down Hwy 100 to drive thru the various car dealers lots, to Mayfair Mall, up Bluemound rd to Brookfield Square, back to Hwy 100 then S. 27th street to a couple car dealership friends there, then to Waukesha, near the expo center, then Sussex off of Hwy J then to downtown milwaukee to eat a Joey Buona's, on water st, for a birthday party dinner, then out to the bars on and off of water st., and finally back to my place near the zoo.. wheeewww... quite a day.

What did I see? We'll let me tell you,,, EVERYWHERE,,, EVERYWHERE people are completely awestruck. From double looks, Smiles, Laughs, questions, comments, to total head turning and racing up to see what it was and who was driving It. I finally get an idea of what it must be like to drive a 300K Lamborghini or Ferrrari, well without the snob appeal. I was simply not prepared for this attention. Which is a good thing since i purchased the car to cover with graphics for my business, Sign-A-Rama Menomonee Falls, A full service graphics and sign making company.

The driving experience? Quite unique.. after 100 miles I can say Im almost completely adjusted to the shifting style, which many have thought would be completely annoying. I'm giving that the thumbs up. The performance is surprisingly good considering a modest 70 horsepower output. Finally the Driving dynamics are very good also. All in all Im pleasantly very happy with my purchase. Like i said I'll give a full review later this week after 500 miles or so.. and more detailed stories of the gawkers that follow me..

Thank you for reading.

Hey Rodd, welcome, congrats, etc. Let us see what the car looks like when you have the graphics done.

New Smart owner...

Will be very interested in your review of the new Smart after its first 500 miles or so, particulary the gas mileage. Today's USA Weekend had a small blurb on the car, stating 33/41 for gas mileage. I was told the mpg would be more like 40 in the city..........big difference. Enjoy your new car--lol

Gas Mileage? Im not sure Im the greatest one for that.. I drive with a heavy foot.. but I'll report it here..

Radio? what questions?.. It seems to be the same quality as other entry level cars I have been in.. aka.. Mini cooper.
