I'm not from around there, but I have a suggestion...

Bandana's BBQ, out on Gravois Rd. in Sunset Hills (I think?).... Big parking lot, lotsa room for parking & tire-kicking, and darn fine food.

Just a thought from an out-of-towner...

I'm very familiar with that bandanas (there's a whole chain of them around here).. I go there too much..

As for the downtown area... I'm clueless. Time to bring out mapquest!

Pappy's Smokehouse, 3106 Olive St. (just east of Compton).

But get there early; they fill up fast & when they run out of BBQ, they're all done for the day.

Went to bandanas today since you made me all hungry for it. Fine then, add that to the idea list for another get together.
Both of those are right off of 64.. which is closed. Bah. I hate taking the back streets...

another great place, Chuck-a-burger! they actually encourage car club meet ups, although those are more along the lines of classic cars. But who cares. Chuck-A-Burger Drive In, crusin’ every Wednesday & Friday in St. Charles
