Tunnel of Trees - on September 25-27, 2009, there will be a gathering of SMART cars at the Birchwood Inn, Harbor Springs, Michigan. The famous “Tunnel of Trees” is right outside their door. The Inn is a short 264 mi, 4 hour drive north of smart Bloomfield.

Along with Michigan's best fall color tour - "Tunnel of Trees" we can visit the Thorne Swift Nature Preserve, hunt for Petoskey Stones at the Petoskey State Park, play a hand at the Odawa Casino, visit either Mackinaw City or Charlevoix (a 45 minute drive away) to dine at unique restaurants and return to a roaring fire at the Inn.

Per the Birchwood Inn: "The Fireside Room off the lobby is a great gathering area for the group and you are welcome to bring your own food and beverages into this area as well. We also have a grill in the courtyard if you would like to do that one evening, or I can place you in contact with a caterer. We will also set up a complimentary wash station for the cars. For reservations, please have participants call Birchwood Inn at 800-530-9955 and identify themselves as with the SMART group. We will extend a 10% discount for reservations made at least 30 days prior to arrival. Our policy is first night's deposit in advance, cancellation of a reservation up to 48 hours prior to arrival receives a refund of deposit less a $10 administration fee. Cancellation within 48 hours of arrival forfeits the deposit. It is also helpful if you provide participants with our web address Birchwood Inn of Harbor Springs, Michigan so they can check out our room styles."
