Canada wait time?

I know I could ask the dealer about this, but I want to get the real skinny...

How long are Canadians waiting to get their Smarts?

Also, what is the purchase process? You sign some papers, wait for the car to arrive, then pay for it?

They are'nt waiting.

I Just had the Canadian's come down from the company I work for. Mike was looking into buying one off the lot. He said there were four brand new ones to choose from.

BTW, they were from the GTA, Ontario.

I bought a Limited Edition in Kelowna BC a couple of days ago. There were about (6) 2008's - different options in each one. Priced from $18K - $22K. And lots of 2006's/2005's. The finance mgr. said they're trying to get their hands on as many Smart Cars as possible.

Pretty much. Sign some papers and pay a deposit, wait for it to arrive, then pay the rest (or finance it, or whatever you plan on doing)

I put down my deposit and signed everything on June 10th, and was told to expect my car in late August. It's not on the boat yet, though, so I'm not exactly sure when it'll come in (though I'm expecting it to be on a boat very soon, as the last batch to Canada were getting up very close to my VIN so I figure I'll be soon).

When I bought mine, there were 3 available for sale on the lot. However, by the time I was done my test drive and decided to order one as they didn't have exactly what I wanted, they had already sold one of those three. So dealer's often have them in stock, but they do tend to go very quickly. Also, the ones they had were more expensive than what I ordered, because they had a bunch of extras that I didn't want to pay for.

Ordered a 2009 in Halifax today and delivery is expected in Oct. or Nov.

There were three 2008s on the lot today, but not in the colour I want.
