So all the stubby antenna afficionados seem to be living in the USA. I just ordered a Dodge Avenger antenna from my local Jeep dealership and installed it easily for a grand total of $12.63.
It looks great and works great!
Now, what should my next mod be? (I am a newbie to taking things off and putting things on a car!)

just stumbled on this thread, can you let me know the part number and include a pic of the stubby antenna you put on the smart car, and ... did you need to do any cutting (as with the Honda antenna mod, which is a few mm shorter in the socket or some such thing)

I am hesitant to alter my new car but this one was right up my alley........unscrew old antenna.......screw on new antenna.

And look at the price gouging that seems to hit us Canadians!
Antenna in USA $5.50
Antenna in Canada $12 ish

Our dollar isn't that low! Who is profiting from this discrepancy???

Sometimes a smiley face or similar helps get the "light hearted" part across. And I don't think any offense was taken (at least I hope not.)
