Got a number from Smart Corp. 0xxxx01198

I have read alot on here and other sites but can't determine if this is going to be in the next 60 days or 6 months.

What part of the number means something?

1,000 threads on this subject, the last four digits (1198) are your place in line. When you get to configure is based on teh number of reservations from your zip code area and nobody knows how many that is. It could be a week, It could be six more months. Your guess is as good as anyones in here on when.

I bet your dealer calls before the middle of March. Your car is probably in the second shipment. If you know which dealer you have, call and get the
rep to look it up.

Okay... Then I quess that settles it, he will get his car march 3rd! Because we all know how acurate the estimates have been so far

The point I was trying to make is that nobody knows, There is no patern of delivery that makes any since.

Called the local dealer (west covina) and they would not or did not have any information on my car.

The thing that bothered me ... I asked about cancellations and he said they are keeping a list of people (45 on the list) that want one but do not have reservations. So I asked "will someone without a reservation get a car prior to someone still waiting for thiers to come in" YES was the answer. Since they have no idea who is next on the reservation list they need to keep a list of people that want one and if avaialbel they get it.

West Covina is my dealer too. If I was you I would just go down there and get on that list. I was thinking about it, but in reality I'm not ready for my Smart yet.

Make some noise. Show them your actual reservations number. If you haven't configured yet you should be able to move to the top of the list. Be a Squeeky wheel.

I so agree, PAG said upfront that orphans would be available to the next reservationist

Understand that you will put down a $2000 deposit for that list. It is the "orphan" list.

Those folks who ordered but change their mind between confirmation and delivery.

Some folks just don't have the 2K to put down for something that can take several months.....

My dealer is Universal and they have a list of approx 46 folks on this list.

You may not be offered up the car that you had originally configured, however if it's close enough, at least you have the option of saying "no"
