Orphan Lists?
I know that North Hollywood is charging $2000 to be on their list, but are others charging as well? Santa Barbara, West Covina, Beverly Hills?

BH is not charging, and from when I checked the $2k deposit wasn't affecting the number on the list (still over 100) at NH.
I'm wondering if anyone has put their name on orphan lists somewhere else in cali? I'm thinking about putting myself on some NorCal lists and flying up to pick the car up.

I'm a big believer in personal relationships. I would get to know one (or a couple) of sales people, do a test drive early on a weekday when they are not busy, and watch for the arrival of new cars. I think there is a great deal of discression in who gets the poor unwanted cars.

I've been on the list at San Francisco since Jan. I haven't received any calls. I talked to the dealer and he said that if you don't care about the color, and if you'll take a PURE, you'll be called sooner.
I want a Passion, and in white or red.
They will call your phone and you must answer. They will not leave a message asking if you want an Orphan...
I sort of think they may be selling Orphans to walk-ins.......hope not!

There was no charge for my name on the SB list. Perhaps being a local made a difference. Also, they would not have put me on the list if I had not already had a reservation #

Talk to Loretta in SF and tell her your a friend of mine (Iris)...I got my bumble bee passion in 4 days after going in to take a peek. I recommended someone else too and they got an orphan within a week. The personal relationsip with them is important. Good luck,

Yes you have to have a res #. They were very nice there. The manager said they would use e-mail with the orphan list as they didn't want to intrude on people, so that seems a nicer way than the SF store with having to answer your phone or you lose out. Nonetheless, I'll wait it out, and perhaps get on a few more lists in my general area. Waiting 6 months or so is better than 18.
