For example if I got on the orphan list in March is it possible I'd get a smart by August?

I configured Dec 21, 2007 and a month later called to see how long it would take to get my car. The SFSmart saleswoman told me about 90 days. That would've made it last month! She never told me about the orphan list when I asked about the "unwanted" cars. I called back in February and another salesperson told me about the orphan list.
The way SFSmart calls people on the orphan list is:
They will call your cell phone, but will NOT leave a message. You have to actually answer the phone or they go to the next on the list. I guess I won't have a chance getting an orphan from here, because some of us do work and can't answer our cell phones. You'd think they would at least leave a message and give you 10 min. to return the call (sort of like those contests on the radio)
My DDE is July- Sept. 2008 - that'll make it 16 months from the original reservation date!
