not in los angeles county but here in fullerton it seems that there is another smart that lives around here. yellow with the black side trim coupe.

I've had mine just over one week now and live in Long Beach. If we are leaving the driveway in anything other than running shoes, we take the smart. I haven't seen any others on the road yet either, but am at least trying to get mine out there for people to see. I'm amazed at how many people say "is that street legal?"...b/c they've never even heard of them before. KEEP DRIVING !!

I was spotted once by a friend of mine, he was working and I was heading to a friends house in WEHO, got a text later saying hey nice smart car!

I have not seen one other car and I just can't believe it.

You'll run into me soon, I'm sure... I live in the SF valley and commute to Pomona.

Interestingly, the first couple days I had mine I also had three sightings. One was the Universal demo going up Brand in Glendale, one was a black/silver on Glenoaks Bl., and the third was a bumblebee on the W/B 210 around Glendora. I was headed eastbound, so they're either easy to spot, or I must be developing "smarty" senses.

I also still see Derek Bell from time to time in Pasadena. He's got a ladybug... can't wait to park behind him at some point.

When the dealers are delivering about one per week to the LA area it will take a long time. Beth in LA you will be pleased to know that your dealer (Universal) says you did not get a car already. There is no way they would deliver them out of the reservation order. So enjoy driving that figment of your imaginatiion!

Finally my wife and I saw our first smart, it was a Bumblebee slowly moving in traffic on a busy saturday morning two weeks ago. This was at Bealls on 53rd Ave in Bradenton near I-75. We were 4 cars behind it and I was so delighted to see one. I said to my wife that I would like make brief contact with the owner and give him my card, for I had questions that only another owner could answer and in all probability he would also have interest.
We followed him across the street in the heavy traffic to another shopping center. I commented to my wife that I believe that he was trying to evade us by the way he was driving. Well...when he finally stopped in the back of a local sports bar chain called GECKO'S, he got out and told one of the staff out back something. My red smart was parked parallel to his and about 5 feet away. I felt somewhat awkward as I got out. He totally ignored me as if I was the invisible man. I didn't know how to respond, so to save face... I gave him my business card and asked him to give me a call when ever he had a chance. He barely took it. I'm sure that card was immediately thrown away. Needless to say I felt disappointed and was also angry for the whole weekend at such an a++hole. He could have given me just a few seconds of his time and I would have felt good about the whole stupid ordeal.
My wife and I both feel that he came across as extremely arrogant.
I used to frequent several GECKO'S, used to.....

Bumblebee going up Beverly Drive toward the valley about a month ago

Red/Black yesterday afternoon in Glendale

Oh and I've seen a silver one a couple of times on the 5 south morning commute in the burbank area

Besides my Dad's car, I finally saw a Blue/Black Passion Coupe heading south on Bristol in front of South Coast Plaza as I was out walking on my lunch break last week. That's it so far!
