Well for my two cents, I agree with 'heatheraj' and would like to do Belmont Shore. We went there on our first outing with the car and had a great time. I must have shown the car to twenty people! Its a great area.
I'd be open to a meet in Long Beach, though I really don't think I'd be up for arriving in the AM as I am really not an early bird. But if anyone wants to put this together, let me know the details and I'll schedule the meetup, and an email will go out to all members.
I think I may be the only soul in the Long Beach area, but i'll post to this thread and offer up the fact that the Long Beach Belmont Shore crowd is NOT your typical american-bread muscle-car owner (and i can say that coming from a Ford family having owned 2 'stangs myself). Any place i've driven I've nearly been mobbed with enviro conscious/green/europeans that love the car and can't get enough of it.
At any rate, the 2nd Street Strip in Belmont Shore is loaded with cafes, restaurants, and shops...and I am overwhelmed with attention when i park my smart there. I'd love to see everyone drive to Belmont Shore (yes, thats easy for me and hard for you), but street parking would be in abundance if we met at 9 (or even maybe as late as 10) am on the weekend. Just a suggestion...
It'd be cool to see the smarties lined up in parallel parking spots while we all shared coffee.
Hey there! I live in LB too and frequent 2nd st often. It's a great place and the people are friendly and love cars. I take turns driving my classic mini and the Smart and they both get a friendly reception.
I am really game to go anyplace next weekend. I would like to bring Deuce, my dog as he's my traveling buddy, so a sit-down restaurant is not my first choice.
