Good morning all. The photo's are great on the Meetup site ... Thanks for all the effort!

For a more southern meeting spot, I was thinking about the Shoreline Drive / Shoreline Village area in Long Beach. The area is great - marina, lots of resturants, shops, aquarium, boardwalk, lighthouse, Queen Mary ...

We usually go over there on Saturday or Sunday mornings around 10:30 am before the crowds arrive.

Comments or other suggestions?

Although Long Beach is a good drive from me I would LOVE to take a drive to Shoreline Drive/Village area on a weekend day.

Sounds like a great idea, just give me a date and time! An exact meeting place would be a good idea as well, like if its the queen mary parking lot, what side? or if its a street, what street? Let me know! Thanks

I think the Long Beach area is SCREAMING FOR A MEET.

Someone on the forum mentioned Belmont Shores so I'd like to add that as a possibility. OTOH, a bunch of smarties with the Queen Mary in the background should make for one heck of a photo op.

Weeknight events.

Any British car fans? There is a Classic English Car Show @ Belmont Brewing Co. start around at 6:30 every 1st Wednesday of the month.

I also posted a car show in Chino Hills for June. Any interest?

It looks like there is some interest in Long Beach and the Shoreline Drive area or possibly Belmont Shore.

To get the discussion started, how about .... Meet on Sunday morning, June 1 (say 10 or 10:30) at a parking lot by Shoreline Village. Hang out with the cars (and each other) for a while, then have lunch on the deck at the Yard House (100 beers on tap - can't go wrong), then cruise somewhere, maybe a photo op by the Queen Mary. Weather forecast is sunny and 75 F with a nice cool ocean breeze. Sounds tempting huh??

Tempting indeed, SpecialEd. I checked the calendar and they are showing a Latin jazz concert ($15) at Shoreline Village starting at 2 pm on June 1. My suggestion is a Queen Mary photoshoot in the morning, then a caravan to the Yard House for lunch and concert for those who choose to stay.

Just another thought.

Lets do it! I'm not sure where the best meeting spot is. Per the web site, the QM parking lot is free for the first 30 minutes, $3 for 31 minutes to an hour and $10 for over an hour. I will try and get over there this weekend to check it out, or if someone else knows??
