I ordered my smart 1 year ago today - 4/3/07. My car's status is currently listed as "in port" so I should be getting it soon!

The excitement is building...

My 1 year as well. How do you get the status "in port". My dealer told last week that mine had "shipped".

Beats me - smartCenter Seattle just sent me an email about a week ago saying that the status had changed to "in port." Prior to that all I'd received was the 45-60 day notice, so I never actually received a "shipped" notice.

(you must be an 1188?); dealer called 3/25, said car should be in 2 to 4 weeks (hopefully translates to between 4/8 and 4/22) so we'll see!

Yup, I'm an 1188. My "in port" email arrived on about the same day as you received your call. It might have been 3/26, I can't remember for sure.

My understanding is that my next official communication will be when the dealer is notified that the car is arriving, which would be 2-3 days before I would take delivery.

Hi Knutliott,

Newbie on this forum...

My reservation number also ends in an 1188 and I reserved it on 4/3/07. I wonder if that's very common to have the same ending number. I spoke with Ethan at the Smart Center Seattle and it looks like my vehicle will be at the dealership on 4/16.

You should call down there, they should have your vehicle info (vin #) now.

Can't Wait!!!!

Hi h22a1!

The reservation number is, in fact, based on the day you placed your order. 4/3/2007 is 1188... and from that you can figure out any other number and date.

If I don't see Ethan at the XXX this afternoon at the get-together, I'll give them a call and see if he has my VIN. His other posts indicating that they received 25 cars last week and should receive another 17 this week make me hopeful!
